The Relationship

Velux skylights has been a mutli-year client where we have built out experiences to help increase leads, efficiency, education and ultimately purchasing skylights for your home. This started with building a master website that houses all information of Velux’s products. In addition to the WhySkylights.com we partnered with Velux to create an installer microsite program where all their affiliate partners could market to their local areas. We painstakingly created a website template that could be used and customized by over 100 Velux dealers in north America. Included with the installer websites, we created a custom landingpage designed specifically for lead generation where users could reach out and connect directly with the local installer in their area.

After the successful launch of the Velux Installer Network, we got to work creating a new product that would allow users to identify what skylights they wanted, where they wanted them installed and schedule their installation. We worked closely with Velux’s North American business partners and developers at Stripe to create a seamless end to end checkout flow that allows the user to either pay with a checking account, credit card, or apply for financing. The great thing about this new product is that the purchase and scheduling done on the site is directly tied to the official Velux Skylights local dealer that works personally with the skylights buyer on installation and consulting. This integration fortified the white glove service Velux is famous for in the industry. User empathy and creating a seamless experience was at the highest regard. Installing skylights is a massive construction addition to someone’s home and by making the transaction and scheduling frictionless we provide more value to the Velux brand. On the backend of the site, we designed and developed a custom dealer portal for all things sales, installation calendar and when payments were due. This tied directly into Velux’s sale reporting to mitigate duplicative data and sales numbers. Now all Velux sales team members and certified dealers can share, edit, update or cancel installations and payments in one convenient dashboard.

Marketing was the next big step in getting user to the site so Wray Ward created multiple advertising campaigns featured on HGTV to push user to the site and to engage with the skylights products. We created a interactive AR skylight visualizer tool that helped users see how skylights could look in their home. Once selected they could either reach out directly to the local installer via geo location or use GetSkylightsInstalled.com to select, purchase and schedule their new skylights.
